THE GRAND TOUR 2026
but starting in 2025

Sara & Brian visit DUBAI

But go the long way round,
starting in Cape Town for a wedding,
then Dubai for Christmas,
then Saudi Arabia (or not),
then Zanzibar, maybe Tanzania,
then back to Dubai.
December and January 2025/26.

EIGHT WEEKS WANDERING AROUND

The original paln for 2026 was to start earlier than usual, kicking off just before Christmas to join Miles in Dubai, then to travel onwards to various unplanned locations for a few more weeks.

Then we got pissed in the pub with old friends

Sharon & Theo who were attending a wedding of the daughter of another friend of ours in Cape Town.

They had booked a bigger apartment than they needed so offered us a spare bedroom, we said yes! Within the hour our amazingly generous friends, the Frosts, then invited us to Emma & Craigs wedding, and boom! We were off track by a couple of thousand miles already.

Rejig our flights, start off at the beginning of December, join a big group of friends, excellent!

Public Service - Trigger Warning

If you are reading this blog of our travels please bear in mind that it's just a light hearted personal diary to remind the two of us and for our family and friends of what we did and where we went.

It's a bunch of anecdotes, funny stories (well, I think they're funny!), some notes and lots of pictures of our travels to jog our own fading memories in years to come.

It can be a bit sweary and I write some (most) of it drunk.

So if you are easily offended - piss off now!
