Having driven exactly 5,000 miles over an exactly 10 week long trip we drive into Stede Court Estate to marvel at the beautifully mown lawns (thanks Miles!) and enter our immaculately clean and tidy house (thanks Bethany!) and we both give thanks along the following lines........................

 

WE MADE IT!!!   AND ALL IN ONE PIECE!!! 

AND NOT A SCRATCH ON THE CAR!!! AND NOT A SINGLE CROSS WORD!!!   

 

Sara and I have been together for something like 65 days (she took a break midway), we sat together for 65 dinners, we stayed in something like 25 hotels, we passed through 10 countries and failed to be understood in five languages, we have driven 5000 miles with me at the wheel the whole way, which took about 150 hours driving, walked God knows how far, biked about a 100 miles, kayaked about the same, put a BMW convertible roof down manually together, sailed together for a week, got pissed and/or had hangovers at least 50 times. 

 

Now that is what you call a HOLIDAY!!

And now that we are back we don't even have that awful feeling of "back to work".  We don't have any work!!

​

Our main job now is to arrange a whole series of piss-ups to regale everyone with our travelling tales and set up the projector and screen to show you all the photos taken along the way.....................

 

No seriously, if you have read all this rubbish you will know as much about it as we do and we can all move on with our lives!!!  You do of course just have to pass a short test, about 10 questions, get 8/10 right, then you are free of any obligation to listen to our tales, so revise please.  Trust me it will be better for you.

We are  just be glad to be home - to touch base with all our family and our friends - and to start doing something new work-wise before I get thoroughly pissed off with people telling me I am retired when I have at least four actual jobs going.

So no mention of retirement just yet please.

If you have read this blurb, or is it blog, then thanks, we hope you enjoyed it.  As we said at the start it was as much a dairy and a record for just us to remind of this trip, it was also a way of letting our family know where we were, but it was also as a laugh for our mates who might occasionally look in and see what we were up to.  In any case - it's over know, you can relax, WE MADE IT!!!
